Bugatti

A short history of Bugatti brand:

The Bugatti pen brand has historical ties mostly linked to a German company called Herlitz, which manufactured Bugatti-branded pens primarily in the 1980s. These pens were a flagship line made with high-quality materials such as black resin and thick 24K gold-plated trims, featuring piston filling systems and solid 14K gold nibs. Herlitz, founded in 1904, was a major stationery manufacturer in Germany and at times ranked among the largest in the country. Although the Bugatti pen set was a relatively rare and high-end product for Herlitz, it is often overlooked in pen collector circles despite its superior build quality comparable to top brands like Montblanc and Pelikan. In a different domain, Bugatti is famously known as a luxury automotive manufacturer, but the historical direct connection between the car brand and pen production brands is not detailed. Some modern licensed Bugatti-themed pens exist, such as a "Bugatti Automobiles" pen set sold in Milan, but these are contemporary licensed products rather than historical Pen manufacturing lines. To summarize: - Bugatti pens historically were high-end pens made by the German company Herlitz in the 1980s. - These featured piston filling, 14K gold nibs, and luxury resin and gold design. - Herlitz was a major German stationery and pen maker with a complex history dating to 1904. - Modern Bugatti-branded pens exist mostly as licensed products tied to the car brand, rather than a distinct historical pen manufacturer named Bugatti. If you are interested in the Herlitz Bugatti pens specifically, they represent a rare example of luxury German pen production with significant quality and collector interest.
