A short history of Delta brand:
Delta fountain pens were founded in 1982 in Italy by three visionaries: Nino Marino, Ciro Matrone, and Mario Muscente. They established a design workshop and factory near Naples with the goal of creating writing instruments reflecting refined elegance and Italian artisan craftsmanship. Delta focused on using traditional materials like precious metals, celluloid, and ebonite, reviving classic filling systems such as the lever-and-rubber-sac method rather than adopting more common converters or cartridge systems of the time.
The company gained recognition for innovation in materials, notably producing the Extrema Collection, which included the world’s first writing instruments made of carbon fiber and titanium. Delta also produced prestigious limited editions commemorating cultural events, such as the Delta G7 Limited Edition in 1994 for the G7 Summit and the official pen of Venice in 1998. Throughout its history, Delta released several historically themed collections honoring Italian and global figures and landmarks, combining advanced craftsmanship with traditional design.
Delta operated successfully until it closed in 2017 but was re-established in 2022 when Nino Marino and a Neapolitan entrepreneur revived the brand, continuing its legacy of sophisticated, handcrafted pens with high-quality materials and artistic design.
